Orchestras Superior at Contest
Congratulations to both the Mid High and High School orchestra on their superior ratings at State Large Group Contest Thursday, Feb 18th. The students are great musicians and terrific to work with. We were fortunate to have clinicians such as Dr. Steve Goforth from Tulsa and Doug Droste from OSU come to Bartlesville and work with the groups. Both clinicians had positive comments for the Bartlesville String Students.
District Solo/Ensemble
Solo and Ensemble is February 27 (this Saturday) at Skiatook High School. Please see your director for specific playing times and transportation schedule. The orchestra has approximately 90 students 7-12 grade participating this year. All Students need to remember to be at all playing times at least 20 minutes before they play. Solos for state must be memorized at the HS level, not middle school level. Soloists are encouraged to rehearse with their accompanists at least three times before contest.

BHS Chamber Orchestra Performs
BHS Chamber Orchestra is busy this semester. The group played at the Teacher of the Year event at BHS February 22. They were one of the featured groups performing for this district event.
On March 3rd, the Chamber Orchestra will play for a community Lenten service at First Presbyterian Church at noon. On June 11th, the group will play at the opening ceremonies at the OK Mozart Festival.
This group is comprised of students who enjoy playing alternative music and performing at functions in the community. It is open to HS and MH students at the recommendation of their teacher.
Tulsa Youth Symphony
The BBOB had a nice support ad in the Tulsa Youth Symphony program Monday night in support of our string students. Thanks again for supporting these students: Jared Gilreath, Nikki Jackson, Victoria Steinhart, Anthony Gaskill and Evan McQuillen.
